Weekly Update 12/21/12

Important Announcements:

*What a crazy start to our last day before break!  I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful class with loving, supportive families.  I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Safe travels over our break!

*It was great seeing all of you at our music program on Monday evening.  Mrs. Dziadosz and the second grade did a great job with this program!  I thought it was adorable!

*December Book-It Calendars were due today.  The January Book-It Calendar will be sent home when we return from Christmas Break.

*After Break we will be reading the chapter book The Snow Day from the Black Lagoon.  The quiz that will be taken on Friday is a computerized test over the book in the Reading Counts program.  Your child took a computerized Reading Counts quiz over How the Grinch Stole Christmas! today.

*Spelling words were sent home today for the test the week we get back.  Even though it will be a four day week, we will still be taking the test on Friday.

*Today is the last day of the second nine weeks grading periods.  Report cards will be available online starting Friday, January 11, 2013.

*Your child brought home two important letters today.  One was an update on his/her Dibels testing that I did last week.  The other letter is an update on safety measures here at school.  Please make sure to read these carefully!  Thanks!

*Mark your calendars now!  Our class will be participating in the Micronauts program at the Challenger Learning Center on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. We will leave school at 9:00 a.m. and return at 11:30 a.m. For this mission, we will need at least 8 parent volunteers.  More information will be coming!
