*Thank you so much to Mrs. Carmin for organizing a great spring party!  I would also like to thank the parents that were able to donate for our party.   Thanks to these parents for coming to our party: Mrs. Black, Mr. Cabreros, Mrs. Cabreros, Mrs. Carmin, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Rushenberg, Mrs. Scott, and Mrs. Sylva.   The kids had a blast!

*I spent the first three days of this week home sick.  The kids did a great job while I was away, and I appreciate that very much!  Thanks!

*I will soon be starting our new reading incentive program which will track the number of words read using reading counts quizzes.  I am still in the brainstorming process so I will share more details as I develop the incentive.  In the meantime, I am encouraging the children to continue to read and take as many reading counts quizzes as possible.

*The All Pro-Dad’s meeting will take place Friday morning, May 3rd at 7:30 a.m.  Dads, we hope you can make it!

Weekly Update 04/12/13

Important Announcements:

*I am happy to announce that three students completed the March reading challenge.  Congratulations to: Olivia, John, and Ben!  They will be having a pizza party with Miss Whisman next week.  A special shout out to John who more than doubled the goal I set for the kids during March!

*On Monday, Mrs. Brown spoke with the students about autism.  She shared some of her own personal experiences and was able to provide some activities for the students so that they could experience some of the sensory issues a child with autism may struggle with.  It was a great way for us to remember that April is Autism Awareness Month.
