Weekly Update 04/12/13

Important Announcements:

*I am happy to announce that three students completed the March reading challenge.  Congratulations to: Olivia, John, and Ben!  They will be having a pizza party with Miss Whisman next week.  A special shout out to John who more than doubled the goal I set for the kids during March!

*On Monday, Mrs. Brown spoke with the students about autism.  She shared some of her own personal experiences and was able to provide some activities for the students so that they could experience some of the sensory issues a child with autism may struggle with.  It was a great way for us to remember that April is Autism Awareness Month.

*Attention Parent Volunteers-
Track and Field is approaching quickly.  I am in need of around 30 volunteers still.  If you can please help on Fri. May 24th, my students and I would greatly appreciate it.  Please email me (shopkins@brownsburg.k12.in.us) or call me at 852-1062 ext. 1319 to tell me what time slot you could help us out (AM- 9:00-12:00, PM 12:30-3:30, or all day).  Thanks in advance for making this day full of memories.

*Smile!  Spring Pictures are Friday, April 19th.  Your child will only get his/her picture taken if he/she has returned the envelope with payment by that day.  Envelopes were sent home Tuesday.

*I sent home pink papers asking for parent feedback to help with placement of your child next year.  Please return those to school by Friday, April 19th.
