Important Announcements:
*Congratulations to
Anah! Anah is the first student to level
up on the super-improvers wall in the classroom. I have many students who are close to moving
to the next level. Students earn stars
by showing improvement in academic and behavioral areas. Once ten stars are earned, a child levels up
to the next level. Way to go, Anah!
*We have had a wonderful week
filled with Veteran’s Day activities. I
am so proud of the way the class celebrated Veteran’s Day during the all school
program. It was a great way to remember
and to honor all of those that have served or are serving in the armed
forces.
*I introduced partial sums
this week, and just like everything else, some students caught on quickly while
others struggled through it. We will
continue to work on it in class. Please
encourage your child to solve two and three digit addition problems using
partial sums. This will really help your
child (and me)!
*Our Unit 4 math test will
take place on Tuesday, November 18th.
*Continue to work on addition
and subtraction math facts. Make sure to
use those fact triangles that were sent home, or you can practice for free
online at www.xtramath.org. Let me know if
you need the log-in information sent home again.
*If anyone is able to come in
and volunteer next week, send me an e-mail and let me know what day and time
works best for you! Thanks!
*The church I attend, The
Blended Church, is one of the sponsors of Fox 59’s Pack the Pantries. If you are interested in donating canned
goods and other food items, but don’t want to drop it off at one of the sites,
please feel free to send it in with your child, and I will be more than happy
to deliver it for you.
*I believe in building relationships with the children both
inside my classroom and outside the classroom.
If your child participates in any extracurricular activities (sports,
dance, theater, etc.), or has any other events that he/she would like to invite
me to, please let me know, and I will do my best to come!
*The blog will also be updated with this information as well
so if you need to see it again visit http://misswhisman.blogspot.com
