Important Announcements:
*Congratulations to Anna for
leveling up this week. Wow! I am so proud of how hard she is working to
show behavioral and academic growth. Way
to go, Anna!
*Next Friday, March 13th
is the end of the third nine weeks! The
fourth and final nine weeks starts on Monday, March 16th. Report cards will be available online
starting Friday, March 20th.
*I sent book orders home
yesterday. I am going to try to get an
order placed so that the books can be in before spring break. To help with this, I am asking that all book orders be turned in or ordered
online no later than Wednesday, March 11th.
*Our reading competition is
on! It is official! Lila has officially filled her first chart
and is working on her second one. I have
several students that have almost filled their first chart. It is so
exciting! And the best part is, the
students are excited about reading! Any
book that your child has read or has listened to (either you reading it, me
reading it, or on tape or CD) and that has a Reading Counts test over it, is a
book that is eligible for the competition.
If your child passes the quiz over the book, he/she will earn a certain
number of points. We have a sticker
chart that we are keeping track of points on.
When your child fills the sticker chart one time, he/she will earn a
token. If your child fills his/her chart
a second time, he/she will be invited to a pizza party with me. The reading competition will go on through
Spring Break.
*Our music program is quickly
approaching! Don’t forget it is on
Tuesday, March 17th at 7:30 p.m.
The children have been working very hard on it, and it will be a lot of
fun! See you there!
*Continue to work on addition
and subtraction math facts. Make sure to
use those fact triangles that were sent home, or you can practice for free
online at www.xtramath.org.
*If anyone is able to come in
and volunteer next week, send me an e-mail and let me know what day and time
works best for you! Thanks!
*I believe in building relationships with the children both
inside my classroom and outside the classroom.
If your child participates in any extracurricular activities (sports,
dance, theater, etc.), or has any other events that he/she would like to invite
me to, please let me know, and I will do my best to come!
*The blog will also be updated with this information as well
so if you need to see it again visit http://misswhisman.blogspot.com
