*Our Time with Teachers event
will take place on Monday, April 20th. Information was sent home about this even on
Tuesday, March 10th. If you
are interested in having your child participate, please return the bid sheet no
later than Monday, March 16th!
*TODAY is the end of the
third nine weeks! The fourth and final
nine weeks starts on Monday, March 16th. Report cards will be available online
starting Friday, March 20th.
*Third grade has IREAD
testing on Monday and Tuesday of next week.
Because of this, we will be switching specials time with them. We will have specials from 8:50 – 9:35 on
Monday and then we will have specials/music program rehearsal on Tuesday from
8:50 – 10:30. The rest of the week will
be a normal schedule.
*Next week we will be reading
and completing activities that go along with Dr. Seuss books. There will be NO spelling next week. We will have spelling the week we return from
Spring Break. I will send those words
home next Friday.
*Our reading competition is
on! Any book that your child has read or
has listened to (either you reading it, me reading it, or on tape or CD) and
that has a Reading Counts test over it, is a book that is eligible for the
competition. If your child passes the
quiz over the book, he/she will earn a certain number of points. We have a sticker chart that we are keeping
track of points on. When your child
fills the sticker chart one time, he/she will earn a token. If your child fills his/her chart a second
time, he/she will be invited to a pizza party with me. The reading competition will go on through
Spring Break.
*Continue to work on addition
and subtraction math facts. Make sure to
use those fact triangles that were sent home, or you can practice for free
online at www.xtramath.org.
*If anyone is able to come in
and volunteer next week, send me an e-mail and let me know what day and time
works best for you! Thanks!
*I believe in building relationships with the children both
inside my classroom and outside the classroom.
If your child participates in any extracurricular activities (sports,
dance, theater, etc.), or has any other events that he/she would like to invite
me to, please let me know, and I will do my best to come!
*The blog will also be updated with this information as well
so if you need to see it again visit http://misswhisman.blogspot.com
