*We took our SRI lexile test yesterday. Wow!
The students did a great job! I am
so proud of the growth each of them has made in reading this year!
*The February Book-It calendar will be sent home on Monday,
February 4th. Your child will
need to complete the reading and return the calendar on Thursday, February 28th. Happy reading!
*The book fair is returning to Delaware Trail. It will take place February 4th –
8th. Our class will be going
on Monday, February 4th during our specials time. If you would like for your child to purchase
books, please make sure he/she brings money on Monday, February 4th! Thanks!
*Our Unit 7 math test will be held on Thursday, February 7th.
* Time for Teachers will be held on Monday, February 11th
from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. This is a time
where your child can do a fun-filled activity with a teacher after school. This is a fun-filled event for your child and
for the teachers!
*The Spring Fling is quickly approaching! It will be held on Friday, March 1st. Our classroom basket theme is school supplies
so if you would like to donate to the basket, you may begin sending in those donations. Donations are due by Monday, February 25th. Any donations of 2-liters, suckers,
individually-wrapped candy, all sizes of candy bars, and baked goods are also
greatly appreciated! Soda and candy donations are due by Monday, February 25,
and baked goods can be sent in on Thursday, February 28th, and Friday, March 1st. If you are interested in volunteering for the

*We will be celebrating Read Across America week the week of
February 25th. In order to
celebrate, we will be having spirit days every day of the week. The spirit days are:
Monday 2/25: Book My Many Colored Days: wear your favorite color
Tuesday 2/26: Book: Fox in Socks: wear crazy socks
Wednesday 2/27: Book: Wacky Wednesday: wear wacky, mismatched clothes
Thursday 2/28: Book: I am Not Going to Get Up Today!: wear pajamas
Friday 3/1: Book: Cat in the Hat: wear a hat
*Mark your calendars now! Our class will be participating in the Micronauts program at the Challenger Learning Center on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. We will leave school at 9:00 a.m. and return at 11:30 a.m. For this mission, we will need at least 8 parent volunteers. More information will be coming!
